Wendy Halley, Social Skills Coach
Wendy Halley has spent more than 25 years helping teens and adults strengthen their social skills, build confidence, and feel more comfortable connecting with others.
Social skills coaching is not therapy.
Rather than focusing on diagnosis or treatment, coaching focuses on learning and practicing practical social skills that can be used in everyday life.
Sessions are active and individualized. Together, we work on real-life situations such as starting and maintaining conversations, reading social cues, understanding the unwritten rules of social interaction, expressing yourself effectively, developing friendships, and handling challenging social situations.
We don’t just talk about social skills — we practice them.
The goal is to take confusing or uncomfortable social situations and make them more understandable, manageable, and eventually more natural.
Whether you are a teen learning how to navigate friendships and school, or an adult wanting to feel more confident socially, coaching meets you where you are and builds from there.

Hello! I’m Wendy, and I’m so glad you’re here.
I work with teens and adults, —with or without a diagnosis who feel unsure or overwhelmed in social situations. That might be at school, at work, in college, or simply in everyday life. Whatever brings you here, you don’t have to figure it out alone.
For more than 25 years, I’ve helped individuals better understand how the social world works. Since social thinking begins with our thoughts, we work on thought patterns alongside practical social skill development.
Every coaching session is individualized because everyone learns differently. Some people learn visually, others through discussion, and many learn best by doing. Together we use visual supports, hands-on activities, role-playing, and real-world practice to make social learning meaningful and lasting.
I often tell clients to think of social skills as a toolbox. Together, we’ll empty out tools that aren’t working and replace them with new strategies that help you build stronger relationships and greater confidence.
Think of this journey as a road trip.
I’m your guide—not because I have all the answers, but because I’ve helped many others navigate this path. There will be curves, hills, and even a few potholes along the way. Growth isn’t about perfection. It’s about continuing to move forward.
Together, we’ll build skills that help you connect with others, communicate with confidence, and feel more comfortable being yourself.
One of my favorite descriptions of my work came from a client’s mother:
“Wendy is a natural connector with a warm personality and a deep, analytical mind. She takes on her clients’ challenges with a unique combination of clear thinking, creativity, and genuine understanding.”
I hold degrees in Psychology and Sociology from Stern College of Yeshiva University and continue to participate in professional workshops and trainings so I can provide the most current and effective strategies for the individuals I serve.
Together, we’ll identify your goals, build on your strengths, and create a personalized plan to help you better understand our shared social world and navigate it with greater confidence.
I look forward to meeting you.
